Puppy Education

The Diamonds In The Ruff puppy training pre-school program is designed to help puppies and their owners get off to the right start to ensure a healthy and long lasting relationship between you and your dog.
Our puppy pre-school program consists of a one-hour in-depth session conducted by a professional dog trainer, in your home and covers everything you need to know to build a strong relationship with your dog and help her develop important life skills.
In this session you will learn the following techniques:

  • Housebreaking
  • Feeding
  • Chewing and Play biting
  • Jumping
  • Pulling
  • Leadership Exercises
  • Walking on a loose leash
  • The importance of the crate
  • Nutrition
  • Acceptable play toys

Private Lessons for Leash Training     
LEVEL #1
 Includes 4 lessons focusing on basic obedience training and average 45 - 60 minutes each.
We will teach you how to introduce commands and build your dog's attention span while teaching him/her how to learn.
Basic manners are introduced, such as sitting at doorways, not pulling on the leash, not jumping up, and staying when told to.
Lessons are best supplemented with daily practice with the pet's owner.

LEVEL #2:
Includes 6 lessons focusing on both on leash and long leash training. This level of training takes your dog
through the transition of understanding what the commands mean to knowing that they must be obeyed.
At this level your canine friend will understand that manners are expected in everyday life situations.

LEVEL #3:
Includes 8 lessons focusing on full off leash training. Hand signals and verbal commands are given separately and more distractions are used.

Walk and Train
We work with both you and your dog while out walking over the course of 3 walks.
We teach you how to get your dog to walk beside you, not pulling you.
We teach you how to deal with dog on dog aggression that you may experience while walking with your dog

Behavior Modification

Eliminate and/or control problem behavior
Eliminate and/or control aggressive behavior towards humans and other animals
